How feasible is going from MM PE to Banking?

Lets say I have a junior summer internship at a MM PE firm.

If I want to switch and go to banking how feasible is that? Lets say I do two years at the PE  Shop, a year, or maybe just the internship and then recruit.

I mean that’s very feasible but my question is…why? Why would you want to leave a buyside role to be a banker? PE work is much more interesting and rewarding, and if you make a long term career than the senior level comp blows IB comp out of the water once you start to receive meaningful carried interest payouts. Even if you’re on a PE team where the hours aren’t much better than IB, is there a reason you want to do more mindless sales/advisory work over smart investing work?
