How involved are MF associates in pulling interviewees into the screening process?

One of my firm's clients is a MF but I work for folks who I don't think are the type to make an introduction for me if I told them I want to recruit for PE.

I also have a family friend at the fund but I'm not sure they wouldn't just turn around and tell the folks I work for that I'm recruiting.

I also have a friend I could reach out to at the associate level and I'm wondering if that's enough to pull me in to recruiting, or if I should bite the bullet and ask the family friend to chat and roll the dice on alerting the folks I work for about me actually being in the process to jump ship.

Appreciate any advice here, thanks.
