How to diligence PE returns?
I’m looking at some smaller firms - what’s the best way to diligence historical performance?

Preqin is usually quite reliable, or if you have access to the datasets from Cambridge Associates that would be the best way to see returns. Another more labour intensive option is to look at the annual reports of public pension funds like Calpers and the like, they usually publish returns fund by fund
Any chance you have access to Preqin and I could shoot you a couple names?
