Great place IMO and associates make very good money. Founder is blackstone’s former debt fund founder, Bennett Goodman. It’s different than traditional PE but gives you access to essentially all major GPs and their deals. Team is very smart and lean. There’s also limited competition in terms of deals relative to other places and with the market the way it is that’s actually something you should keep in mind.
their base is 110-130k. is most of the comp from bonus?

This is a random comment but I think the recent final closing of Hunter Point's inaugural fund really speaks to the importance of marketing and momentum management. As far as I can see, Hunter Point was set up way back in 2021 (perhaps even 2020) and they had, per Bloomberg, 'already' raised $1bn in Oct 2021 on a $2.5bn. The fact that this fundraising just closed means it took them 3+ years to raise this fund...when usual fundraises (at least pre-fundraising winter) took 9-18 months. The first half of this fundraise was raised in arguably the best market in years and the last half was easily the worst.
Seems like this was a fundraise that actually really struggled but the only coverage you see on Hunter Point is positive.
Feel like the “normal” fundraise timeline is applicable for traditional PE but in a space as nascent as GP stakes it seems reasonable for an inaugural fund to take some time. But agreed, $3.3bn in 3 years and it still “feels” like a good outcome.
I think for comparison's sake, you can look at the other notable GP stakes firms and their fundraising timelines. Petershill, Blue Owl, etc. all raised in much quicker time. With such a high-pedigreed team, I'm honestly surprised Hunter Point took so long to raise. IMO the GP stakes scene was much more exciting pre-2021 when target GPs were doubling their AUM every 3-5 years (and thus, firms like Hunter Point had potential line of sight to mark-ups and maybe even exits). Nowadays, I'm not sure how any of these smaller, mid-market firms will grow at the same rate.
At the end of the day, GP stakes firms are just modern day fund-of-funds without the optionality of NOT investing in the next fund of the underlying GP...
Phenomenal place to be. Ultimately, one of the easiest ways to get promoted is to work at a growing firm that needs people at higher levels as the firm grows. This firm seems like a rocket ship, it's led by a person with a great track record and had a huge first-round raise. I would be there compared to a lot of "better" or more historic shops in terms of long-term careers.
