I have an interview with them coming up (got it through a friend). Obviously they are a PE firm, and appear to be strong, but I've never heard of them, and there's no information regarding them. Check our their website. Please only respond if you have real PE knowledge.
Should I consider them???

Yeah, you're right. Just looked into more of what a FoF does, not really what i'm looking for.
They are private equity advisors. You wouldn't be doing analysis directly on companies, but rather on private equity funds. Your responsibilities would probably include meeting with GPs (private equity funds) and reviewing their funds for your clients (LPs). If your firm finds a fund that fits for a client, you'd write an investment memo about that fund.
One huge perk about this role is that you can build a great rolodex of MDs at PE funds. They all come to you, because they want your clients' money. You'll also have a great understanding of the private equity landscape, knowing who's who.
Also, the work life balance would be nice... probably ~50 hour weeks. Not the same comp package as ibanking or being an analyst directly at a PE Fund, but still a great gig
Good stepping stone...don't dismiss it because its not exactly what you want. Not everyone can be buyside at GS

Just be aware that this would not land you at a banking or PE gig afterward just because you have a good rolodex. If that's not what you're looking for after, then I think this would be a great and interesting opportunity...just wanted to make sure you were aware.
We just interviewed a guy for a first year analyst position that was coming from doing ~3 years of work at a similar firm. The guy was a very nice guy and could have a great career elsewhere, but there was not a chance he would be capable of working at a bank.
No? What exit ops would you think I would have? Portfolio Management? It sounds like I'd need a CFA.
Maybe I could two years and then an MBA > banking.
