InfraRed Capital Partners
Does anybody have info on InfraRed Capital Partners in terms of comp, WLB, work, etc on the analyst level ? Asking for London as they currently have an opening for an Analyst position on their website.
Thanks

Advised the London team on a regulated utilities deal few years back. Seniors were not impressive, juniors even less so.
Thank you for your response, SB'ed. If I may ask, how were they not impressive ?

From my industry exp and second hand knowledge:
- Rep: very stong, leading player in infra in terms of no. of deals & infra AUM, in the UK / Europe anyany.
- Work: They mostly do core / core+ deals, i.e. low risk / low return assets.
- WLB: Good! I hear one of the best (maybe 50hr week??)
- Comp: below market at junior level
what's comp like ?
Sorry I don't know the specifics. But what I recall is that the base is on the middle to lower side of the typical range for Infra Funds. Whilst the bonus is much lower than market (like 20-40% max).
You can see this reflected in the type of people they hire, a lot of folks coming from Project Finance teams of developers / corporates, and also many from the Big 4 modelling / advisory teams. Also they tend to hire people from the other lower paying core / super-core infra funds in the UK like Amber Infra, Foresight, etc.
It's possible the information I have is out of date, but this was the case 2-3 years ago.
What’s comp like for Analysts?
I just got an offer for an Analyst role in InfraRed Capital Partner's NYC office at $105,000 base, with a projected bonus from HR at 20%. I negotiated an additional $5,000 base. I have 1 year of relevant experience to the role, 2.5 years of overall work experience.
Was your 1 year of experience at another infra shop? Really want to break into infra (from energy banking) but shocked at how little my skill set overlaps with what they are looking for. I know this because of a couple infra modeling tests gone horribly wrong. How does anyone in IB get exposed to that type of modeling?
What type of modelling knowledge did they require?
My 1 year of relevant experience was not in an infra fund or anything to do with infrastructure. It was in a real estate and hospitality-focused organization. But my experience was relevant to my job function. I'm not on the investment side.
