Infrastructure Advisory -> Infrastructure PE / Infra Funds Management?

Suppose someone worked in an infrastructure advisory firm doing due dilligence (commercial and technical) for acquisition deals.

Would that person be an asset to an Infra PE fund? Or anywhere in Infra funds management? Or is something like Infra IB more approrpriate? Would the Infrastructure Advisory Firm person have a chance? No chance? Lose out to the IB guy?
