Interested in PE/PC. Not Interested in Investing

I'm interested in PE/PC because it's an office job that pays well, hours are less, and opens paths to greatness (promotions here/other fields, Corp dev/CEO, back to IB/CB, etc. (basically lots of money))

Honestly not passionate about investing but feel that I can gain some interest in the field once I'm already in it. Already doing IB at an MM firm. I'm comfortable where I am, but ppl say if you want to achieve greatness you must go to PE/PC/Biggest Bank and move around different firms. Just want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything by staying in the same firm.

Curious if anyone didn't have a genuine interest in PE/PC but developed that once you were in it (or not at all).

Thanks

P.s. I didn't have a genuine interest in IB either, but now I guess it's pretty cool
