In PE IR can mean a lot of different things. IR is a division not a group so this post really doesn’t mean anything unless you specify what group you want to be a part of.

I work in this space so I can give detailed insight into anything you want just let me know-I've only worked at one firm so this is a small sample size based on that and my interactions with others but to me IR seems to be the best at MFs. There are some good posts on this but I'd have a hard time believing that most MM or smaller shops have very structured / built out IR teams.For me work life balance is amazing and there is almost no face time since relationship managers are mostly on the road or at dinners / events. And the comp is decent as well, not crazy like IB but you can still do very well here and still feel like a human
