There may be some way to leverage placement agencies here as well (those who help originate funds by helping potential GPs to raise capital from LPs), as they are responsible for a significant portion of overall $ raised (though higher-pedigreed and higher-quality teams don't use them)
Preqin has data on roughly how much is actively being raised (i.e. not closed) by asset class/geography, etc.; but I have no idea how accurate this information is.
