KKR 2020 Analyst program
It seems KKR is starting an analyst program again starting full time in 2020.
Does anyone have some info on what the program is like? Is it industry specific or generalist, career progress after (2 and out vs direct promotion), hours, comp, thoughts on the level of involvement/responsibility an analyst will when working along side an associate.
following
Where did you see they are starting this?
Details got sent to rising seniors on Handshake. Idk about the number of people they sent this out to initially or if they are targeting students at particular schools. Anyways, y’all better throw in some juicy keywords in appropriate positions of your resumes...
Word on the street is that the program is going to be extremely small. There was some talk among school/finance club alumni at my target and as far as I know they're looking to hire a single student from our school and are targeting a female/diversity candidate who has interned at one of: a top BB, EB or top PE analyst program (think SLP, BX, GSIP)
This. I attend a target and after KKR spoke to us the only person they reached out to was a female diversity candidate.
I know a white girl from a non-target school who did a finance internship at KKR. She was co-captain of the soccer team, but still, can anyone explain that?
They also visited my school. I assume we go to different schools, because the information we got mentioned hiring FT analysts for nearly all of their classic PE industry groups, C&PG, REPE + Credit, and their TMT growth program. Though female/diversity candidates probably have a leg up in the process, they are definitely hiring for many positions.
Hey I applied for the program last week. Would it be alright if I pm you?
I also received that information. And I also heard that they're hiring for many positions. My point still stands though; as I said, the only person they reached out to was one (1) female candidate, highlighting that they're probably taking a very small number of candidates and the ones they are are going to fulfill diversity quotas. Not judging or whatnot, just saying what I know.
Do people know whether it’s true that these programs have 3.9 interview cutoffs? A friend who interviewed once said that’s the case at Bain Cap and Warburg given the number of applicants and the fact that there are only 1-2 openings per group. Would appreciate a megafund stud to confirm/call bullshit on this
A hypothetical Wharton M&T that has a sophomore summer at Apollo and is in the right networks probably won’t get dinged outright for a 3.8. So no, probably not a strict cutoff, but yes, the vast majority of kids that actually do get the job do have 3.9+
See my post here for more:
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/buyside-jobs-out-of-undergrad#co…
Tons of people with sub-3.9 gpas get interviews, and even offers, from Bain, Warburg, SL. It will likely be the same with KKR. Certain hedge funds may have a higher cutoff.
Anyone else get the email about taking a predictive index test for KKR? Was wondering if it was sent to everyone or if it means something lol
Got one as well.
For people who got the cognitive test email - when did you submit your resume? I didn't get one and was thinking whether I had already missed my chance : (
I applied/submitted on the 31st of May.
I submitted on the 6th of June and got one.
I got it as well, and my friends who applied also got it. Said it was a bunch of behaviorals and 50 brain teaser/quick math questions. Hope it doesn’t cutoff some kids for this machine screening.
Did anyone else get invited to their NY event?
Was that before or after doing the behavioral test
Before!
Not me... Are you also a diversity candidate?
no I'm not
Sooo can people forward that email..
got the invite to ny event
Is it a specialized/private event or a general audience one that just didn’t hit all schools?
Based on the email it sounds like it’s invite only
The networking event is for their top candidates. Typically 3.9+ from wharton/harvard and with BB IBD or PE/HF ongoing junior summer. Those are the kids getting 1st round interviews. Whatever prescreen is only to screen out any outliers at that point.
Anyone get anymore emails about next steps beyond the networking event?
Nothing for me but friend said she already had a phone interview and was invited for an in office round for upcoming weekend. That said, she reached out after the campus event and has been in contact with their recruiting team.
Student at a top target, have two friends interning at KKR for their junior summer (non diversity). From my understanding, the program is for a specific area of the firm, like distressed credit or any classic PE role. Both guys interning at the firm have 3.8+ GPAs and internships at top banks, PE firms, HFs, etc prior to joining KKR.
Did anyone get the webinar email
I did! I think it's just a mass-blast to all who applied, probably.
Hey did anyone else get a superday invite for the 23rd??
No. Can share more info? This seems like too quick a turnaround... not when they told us superdays would be
Seems like not an actual superday but just a diversity/special circumstance process that’s accelerated. Btw, might I ask how do you know the exact timeline?
how do you apply to this?
Was through a link on certain target school OCR sites, but the app expired June 9 anyways so you wouldn't be able to apply if you somehow got the link.
Has anyone gotten a first round/phone interview yet? For the normal timeline, not some accelerated circumstance btw
Has anyone been able to pre-register for the webinars? I am not....
Was able to enter in my details, submitted and then came to a page saying "Webinar Registration Pending Approval". I'm assuming that's as good as pre-registration gets
Also, anyone else think it was sorta funny that they sent everyone the email rather than a bcc?
Yeah I peeped that too lol
For those who couldn’t make the webinar, they said that the teams are reviewing our applications now. First round invites should go out in the next 2 weeks. The first rounds will be by phone with 2 people from the team, and final rounds will be in person (with up to 5 interviews that day) at the end of July. People receiving offers should be notified by the second week of August.
On the PE webinar, I may have misheard this but they said they are looking to take 1-2 people per team.
That’s what I heard as well.
That's a lot of people then? Since they mentioned several groups that were recruiting...so potentially up to 10 people?
Do we know how technical this interview process is going to be?
Suppose I'm giving away part of my identity, but KKR will take 1-2 per group (depends on the group). KKR PE (Healthcare, C/R, F/S, Energy, TMT, Industrials), Infra, Credit, SSits, growth, and impact will all be taking people (as will some MO/BO functions). There isn't a real mandate to take only one or only two. Given that, each group (at least on the CPE side) is encouraged to take only one analyst. At least for my group, and I know for a number of others, we have sent out first-round invites in the last couple of days. Interviews will be fairly behavioral at first, then more and more technical as you go along. Gpa, undergrad school, work experience, and some connections in the firm are all important.
Really? One of those groups you named was not mentioned as recruiting full times. Have things changed? If this is the group I’m suspecting then you’ve completely given away your identity haha
I believe all that I mentioned are recruiting. Could be wrong but a lot of my colleagues in all of these groups are indicating that they will be taking people
Safe to assume we've been cut if we didn't get an interview yet?
Don't assume anything. Some invites might come next week, but first-round interviews are scheduled to occur starting on Monday
How were the first rounds for those who had them?
Mostly behavioral/past resume experience and why the role/sector. I think they mentioned that it gets more technical as rounds progress.
also interested if anyone's heard back regarding superdays.
has anyone heard back for 2nd round interviews yet? i had my interview on jul 8th
Which group?
Had mine w industrials on thurs and haven’t heard back yet.
The group I interviewed with told me we’d hear back next week.
Got a super day invite for industrials for this Saturday
Anyone know what salary is for this? Have superday coming up and I'm curious
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/pe-firm-2020-whose-still-open
Hear they say 95+105 but that seems much higher than other PE
Anybody hear back from infra for superdays?
did anyone hear back from either of the real estate groups?
I heard back from RE Credit and got a super day invite.
Did anyone hear anything for growth equity?
Bump. Assuming all super day invites are out?
Anyone heard back after the super day yet?
also wondering if anyone had details on when they would get back to us
Bump
maybe none of us got offers! :D
EDIT: actually, looking above, i see they said that we'll hear back second week of august so we should be fine!!
Has anyone heard back?
delete
All offers out
Are they going to send rejection letters?
just got my rejection! good luck with the job search everyone :")
