KKR / BX Comp
Does anyone know total comp progression from analyst - principal at a top MF like KKR or BX?
Heard pay is all standardized across core/re/credit/infra groups, but have yet to hear concrete numbers and target bonuses. How has it compared to your peers in IB?
I know this has been discussion in similar forms before, but looking for fresh data.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, the total average compensation for different positions at KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts) as of September 2023 is as follows:
Please note that these figures are averages and actual compensation can vary based on a variety of factors. As for how it compares to peers in Investment Banking, I would need more specific data on the IB roles and firms you're interested in comparing.

300k aso1
350k aso2
550k cash for principal 1, 2m DAW
Finally someone adds something of value, thank the lord.
is this kkr or bx?
Isn’t this below market pay for MFs? KKR / Blackstone discount?
It’s definitionally market
I'm surprised by the 1-2m DAW, quite low. That's probabyl that trade off between DAW and higher cash salary at most MFs?
The DAW figure is annualized right? So total of ~$10m and annualized comes out to $2m?
DAW is almost always quoted on a total basis. Have heard $3mm total for BX but don’t have any concrete numbers.
Also worth mentioning KKR has a unique “one carry pool” structure that shares economics across all of its private investing strategies.
This is probably a dumb question but can you explain how to think about the DAW figure? What does the timeline for vesting look like?
Heard from someone who just interviewed there that blackstone flagship fund only pays 140k base and 140k bonus. All in 280k for 90 hours a week sounds terrible.
This can’t be right. Bonus must be higher
This isn’t right. BX first year analysts start at ~210k all in (good friend started there). A first year associate has got to be more like 350, but I don’t have any anecdotal data for that figure
That is about right. Generally BX is known to pay below market, with the divergence vs privately held funds only growing as you become more senior.
