Landed IB SA 2025 offer, seeking advice on PE recruiting

Hello,

As the title suggests I'm an incoming SA for 2025 in Generalist M&A. I'm extremely happy with the results and plan to live up the rest of college, but was wondering what the timeline looks like for PE recruiting? Essentially, when will my first opportunity for recruitment be and will it be on-cycle?

Also would love any advice/resources you guys could have in helping me prepare for buyside recruiting. Any guides, any books, any WSO posts you could refer me to, would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I also want to point out I'll be incoming in LMM shop. Would I be better off skipping PE recruitment and trying to lateral to better bank first, and then recruiting? How does that timeline look?
