Currently an Associate at a Top MF thinking about moving to a MM or UMM firm for a career track role. While I have the option of moving up at my current firm, I’m open to other opportunities. I know during on-cycle recruiting, it’s a pretty big flag if you ask about comp with headhunters, but at my level, would it be okay to ask before even expressing interest in the interview process? I just don’t want to waste time interviewing if there isn’t a clear upside economic opportunity of moving?
