Latest thoughts on Insight Partners?

Hey folks,I was curious to hear this forum's updated opinion on Insight Partners given the growth market right now.I've seen minor comments here and there mentioning Insight might be in too deep given they went heavy in 2021 and are now looking at ~$20B dry powder (less investments made since their latest fund raise, Feb'22).How are friends / colleagues that are currently there thinking about Insight's positioning and entry prices? Do you think Insight will be looking to double down on existing portco's to lower their cost basis in the event of a downround? Thanks in advance!

They got caught up in the mania of 2021 and have been hit hard like the cross-over funds once multiples normalized. Bought a lot of assets at crazy multiples e.g. 50x ARR at valuations that companies won't be able to grow into for years if they survive. Some high quality assets in their portfolio but holding on to a lot of garbage right now. Will still get pretty good growth/late stage VC deal flow given their early stage investing platform and word is they're looking to make more sensible investments with the remaining dry powder to meet the return hurdles on their $20bn fund..though one can imagine, it'll be very difficult to deploy that capital unless they start doing P2Ps like TB/Vista which just isn't their bread and butter. I'd bet money that their next fund goes back down to ~$12bn...
