Class of '24 here, still unemployed (not going for PE). Its terrible. Still see the value in the degree depending on career goals.
I know my first post MBA job will be a place I'll want to leave within 6-12 months. Very few desirable jobs outside of the typical job paths of IB / consulting / on-campus recruiters.
Damn, sorry to hear this and I hope you find something desirable soon!!! I’m curious: 1. What did you do before bschool and is that not a potential fall back option? 2. What role(s) were you gunning for while in bschool? 3. Are there a lot of people in your class in your position?
Would rather not go into too much detail about my pre-MBA experience / post-MBA goals but its not a huge pivot. It was more so a desired functional pivot (operations --> strategy) within the same industry where I have 5 years of experience in. Pre-MBA company is in tatters right now unfortunately and hiring for an appropriate role is very unlikely in the upcoming quarters.
No, 90-95% of my class have landed jobs and I would say about ~80-85% of them landed legitimately post MBA roles. I would say a good 10% of my class are underemployed which I think I will be too at my first job post MBA.
