MBB On-Cycle 2023
Interested in what funds extended interviews to MBB consultants. Any MBB able to interview at generally non consultant friendly shops?

Cannot say 2023 but interviewed 2022 on cycle. I have received interviews from:TPGBain capApaxElliottGold gate capitalThough did not land offer on any of these due to client conflicts (have to leave in the middle). Recruited off cycle instead and going to another UMM/MF
Did not getting offers during oncycle prevent your from getting looks offcycle?
Did not. Also didn’t really go with HH for off-cycle; the fund directly reached out to me and went through their internal processes
How did they have your resume and know to reach out to you without HH?
They have my name and my firm so it’s easy to get my work email address.
Think HH passed them a resume book, in which I was listed on there. But I never met / talked to that HH though.
Also to add -
I know people who failed at on cycle did get good opportunity to interview at off cycle. Of course they are not the same fund, but there are many funds out there. At EOD, you would only need one offer.
Would expect the usual suspects to have extended interviews to plenty of MBB folks. H&F, Advent, Bain, New Mountain, Berkshire, Sycamore, Golden Gate, and AEA have traditionally taken a lot of consultants.
