MF PE Associate Out of UG Feasibility

I was at a MF last summer and got a return, but now I also have an associate offer from a top VC firm for when I graduate. Is there any way I can leverage this associate offer to become an associate at a MF out of undergrad?

Would love to hear about how you found a VC associate role out of undergrad! I'm a UG student and wanting to be in VC is why I got into finance in the first place, however, I am struggling to find a concrete path to getting into VC without IB or PE and actually didn't think it was possible.

OP here. This is rlly extreme lol. I just went to a normal target not HSW and studied a technical subject. Didn’t ever work in banking (or consulting) just worked at top VC-backed startups in various roles and some well known buyside shops covering tech (both in-sem and over summer). Did SA at a tech PE shop (KKR MP/SL/Vista) and then got the ASO offer from a VC shop that I worked at in-sem for sometime.

Imo school and banking/consulting exp doesn’t matter too much. What matters more is your network and how much industry knowledge you have. Hope this helps.

Not really title inflation in my case. Associates at this firm had all done analyst stints.

You're good man. Everyone on this site is an insecure asshole lol - especially when they see someone else doing better than they were.

Honestly, getting a MF PE associate offer will be nearly impossible. Still, you can always try reaching out to someone you know well at the MF you were at over the summer and let them know your circumstances (I've heard of MF analysts getting associates promotions quicker by using other MF associate offers as leverage). Also, you might be better served trying to shop your offer with crossovers and other VC shops who are hiring. They are much more likely to hire you at the associate level than a MF PE shop. Whatever you do though, be sure to be pretty low-key about it because you could get burned quickly and end up with no offer if people get wind of what you're doing. I would honestly delete this whole post.
