MF PE SA Timeline
I am currently a sophomore at a non-target and recently fostered a strong connection with an MD at a MF (somehow pulled this off). Anyways, he forwarded my resume to HR to help with their SA recruiting, which I know very few spots are available. I have not been able to find anything on this thread or online that mentions SA MF timelines. Any help would be great, and if you have interview advice for SAs that might be different than the associate recruiting tips, that would be great.
Recruiting will happen slightly before BBs (Jan-feb). Unless you’re diversity / have a really strong sophomore internship, it will be extremely difficult even with an MD rec.
Okay thanks. I have a pretty strong soph summer internship in NY, been working at UMM fund the last 8 months, and have 4.0. Do you think I might have a shot?
If your technicals are phenomenal and you are really social / have an interesting story, yeah you have a shot. Good luck. Be prepared to be slightly condescended in your interview and just take it on the nose and keep going (BX ans were super douchey when I was interviewing). Know LBO technicals and accounting like the back of your hand
