MF vs MM PC Interview

What differentiates MM PC interviews vs say the PC arm of a traditional MF? Are the interviews significantly more difficult/technical? If so, can someone please shed light on the unexpected technical/difficult questions? If not, is it just a case of a stream of "higher quality candidates" (i.e. only recruit from "well-known" IB or other PC gigs)?

Any differences in the model/case studies?

What helped you stand out during your interview process? Was it that you answered the basic questions extremely well or got the right answer for some of the more difficult questions (which once again, what do these entail)?

Trying to understand why it is harder to land roles at bigger / more well established firms versus smaller ones (beyond the fact that there's more competition because these positions are more coveted - at the end of the day, we can control our performance, to a degree, can't control the competition or the outcome)
