Hey guys, I currently have an offer from a MM IB firm for full time and am going through the process of interviewing at a MM PE shop (~$700mm between 2-3 funds). What are the pros and cons of going straight into a deal sourcing analyst position with a MM PE shop? Would that pigeonhole me into PE for my career? What are exit opps after 2-3 years of being a PE analyst? Thanks in advance

Where do you want to go after PE? PE is the end goal dude. I mean you could try and lateral to a HF, but the primary risk with starting off in PE is that if you fuck up, where do you go? You cant do IBD, thats a downgrade. You may or may not receive a bump to associate. It is a riskier place to start your career, but if you know thats what you want to do, then good luck. It is a very tough decision.
