MM regional PE firm associate salary PLZ HELP!
I was wondering about this firm

StoneHenge Partners is a MM ( 700 mil in assets) etc It is located in Columbus, Ohio with 7 principals, a CFO 2 VPS and 2 associates. I was wondering that with the experience most of the people have on this site, and the website i provided. How much do you think an associate might earn at a place like this? What might a bonus + base be like btw i would come right out of college and they have never done that before. Thanks for your help!!
PS i hear Blackstone associates earn 900k a year.......... wow............. if that is true.

It's really interesting that none of the associates have IB experience, then again it's a really small firm. I say salary is probably 70-80 with bonus being 30-40.

No one is going to pay 200k straight out of school.
That $70K + $30K bonus seems pretty accurate. I'd be very surprised to learn comp was anything more than $120K all-in.
Would you guys even consider this middle-market? They look for deals with $2M of cash flow, so we're talking total EV of no more than say $20M.
Simply knowing 2MM of cash flows is not nearly enough to pull a valuation of 20MM out of your ass. What if the company has growth of 20%, on cf (cash flows of 2MM in year 1), WACC of 15%, and upon exit in year 2015 has 20MM of EBITDA with public comps trading at 5x. And also has 15MM of net debt.. way above 20MM.

and the only reason I am doing this is cuz i like New York and got an intern offer at Morgan Stanley but my parents live in columbus and dont want me to leave, and mi amor is here too studying Pre-Pharm so idk.... i really appreciate the help honestly :D
1) When you hear of people earning 200k+ their first year in PE, it's because they're working at BX/KKR/TPG etc, that is the big guys. Smaller firms don't pay as much. 2) You'll prolly break up sometime in the next year or two, so I'd take the MS offer in NY (if it's for IB)
Love the humility, just don't go around saying Blackstone associates earn 900K a year because people will call you names.
haha sorry...... I just heard that from my friend who works at goldman (prolly pulling my leg) but on payscale it says around 200k maybe more reasonable...Another question i have is that this company really is growth..... i found another one one http://www.lazearcapital.com/ which is deals with distressed and i think they like me as well you think this one might be better? Why do people think because they are posting on the internet, all grammar goes out the window? I am not saying I don't have a few typos here and there, but sometimes I am seeing whole paragraphs with no punctuation. Even for a Blackberry, this is pretty bad.
Stonehenge is a sub-debt investor, not a buyout shop. Like all MM sub-debt investors, they do co-invest in their deals, but it is usually a very small amount ($1M?). This isn't a traditional MM Buyout shop and hence I wouldn't expect to be paid on the same scale as MM Buyout shops.
I've done some work with the Stonehenge guys (two in particular), and I think they are very reasonable, good people. I'd say go with the opportunity if you are interested in MM lending (as opposed to direct investing).
i doubt you will make more than 60K all in your first year there. great exit opps to university of phoenix's executive MBA program though...
