New fund paying for foregone bonus?

Might leave my current fund next week - not starting with new fund until early November due to notice period. Is it standard for the new fund to pay me for part (a consistent part hopefully) of the 2024 bonus that I won’t receive or do most funds not compensate for it? Wondering how much I should push in the negotiation.

You're correct that no fund you're leaving will give you a cent.

New fund should compensate you at least partially with a signing bonus (I would not accept "we'll take care of you at year end" - they should quantify it and pay at sign-on, or assume its $0)

Probably not going to get a full bonus year as you seem to know, but something pro-rated sounds right. Worth asking. How much you push on it depends on how badly you want to leave / work at the new place.
