New PE Associate - Basic Accounting Help

Came from MBB into a consultant friendly PRE shop. Struggling with basic accounting / modeling but determined to learn basics. Any resources you guys recommend?

Would love recs on consultant friendly stuff

Without spending money not sure besides youtube. If you want to spend money theres plenty of courses and textbooks.

I'm surprised they aren't training you on the job if they knew you don't have a finance/accounting background. If you're trying to do supplemental learning, then I would recommend getting on Investopedia and just click on links imbedded and go down the rabbit hole. This isn't meant to be sarcastic, but you could just buy a finance/accounting textbook and just read it. "Consultant friendly" isn't really a thing, but rather look for intro to finance/accounting since if that's truly where you're at. It might hurt the pride to study up on intro to finance after landing the job, but it'll help you understand basic fundamentals.
