London is a very tough market. I was lucky to get my transfer internally. The hiring cycles are different but they do really love Americans so if you present well, you have a shot so good luck!
I'm considering careers in London through US funds as an American currently in NYC IB. If you see this would love to DM a few questions about work life / culture in London after the US.

who loves americans? do share, i moved here from MM bank in NY to better MM bank here and nobody cares i am american, you would think they love i have done 30bn of deals but instead it is always, well you dont have xyz languages. also good luck moving - i tried to from NY and nobody would even take an interview with me because why do tehy need me when they have the whole of europe at their fingertips, so i made the geo move by staying in IB
In London those shops are not what they seemingly are in the US (maybe except BofA which is probably similar in both?). That combined with people preferring Europeans over Americans would make me think it’s an uphill battle. I think tactically your best bet would be to go for an upstart satellite office of a US fund that’s still full of Americans like One Rock?
Very very difficult, unless you're European and want to get closer to home. If you're American the best bet, as mentioned above, is to move internally (and same goes for Europeans that want to move to NYC). Reasons are always the same, e.g. a mix of culture, language requirements, very high level of local talent, etc...
It’ll be tough. Heck it’s even extremely tough for Brits to get into London UMM / MF PE given the strong bias towards continental Europeans that is pervasive throughout the industry.

Hey,

Thanks!
Transfer from IB to PE or trabsfer from BO/MO to IBD?
