Offer from Bain Capital - Should I take it

Hi everyone - thank you for your time in advance.

I'm from MBB consulting and I currently have an offer form Bain Capital for their '23 class. They have an offer and want me to respond by today - should I accept? Wondering if there's any other mega funds that are currently recruiting consultants.

Thanks!

Ofc, where else would you go? If you want to go to a smaller fund eventually you’re still best to start at Bain. And among large cap funds you won’t get a better training ground as a former consultant.

This is certainly true, though I can’t think of any associate ever doing this before because WHY would you? All these firms are basically the same at the end of the day and Bain has better culture than most. Returns are no worse than peers. Why would you lateral to the same BS and have to start over…

I think really depends on what OP is looking for. If it were me I'd prob just stay at Bain cap for the rest of my life and try to climb the ladder there. Better WLB and culture, also more chill. Bain cap funds are still very sizeable

Take it - great culture, friends there love it, all of them want to come back post-MBA.  Should tell you all you need to know. Plus having done it myself, MBB-->PE is a rough transition (see posts over the last 18 months, plenty of them from ex consultants) so landing somewhere that understands what to do with consultants in a serious way is a great thing.
