Outlook on Software Private Equity Investing in the Future?
Curious to hear what everybody's thoughts are on the state of software private equity investing currently and for the foreseeable future (10~15 years down the line). Are prospects and returns still good?
I am soon going into my banking analyst stint after graduation and considering what industry would be suitable to go into for PE investing and have always had an interest in software. Hoping right now is still a good time to join and general sentiment about software investing is bullish.
The big players are going to be just fine. By the big players i mean the most successful players in the space: Vista, Thoma, FP, TA, Hg, H&F. Outside of that it’s a little more shaky.
Any particular reasons why? Would assume some of those larger take privates (e.g. anaplan or similar) are still not doing too well
