Paths to PE?

Hey guys, I'm just starting my first year of economics and finance at a target school in Europe and I want to someday get to LBO PE. I've heard that you can either get into it through IB or Strategy Consulting and I'm wondering which path would be best. I've always been more inclined to operational/strategy work rather than analysis/modeling, so I really want to know if it would be possible to get to PE through strategy consulting, and if by through this path, I would work more on the operational side of PE. Could you guys lend me some knowledge? Thanks!
