PE Offer - Target Bonus?
Recently received an associate offer from a PE firm that stated a target bonus amount that was > 100% of base. Was surprised given that total compensation (assuming target bonus is reached) would be 10-15% more than what's usual for a firm of this AUM + latest fund size.
Is it safe to assume that most people hit the target bonus amount? Would assume that firms wouldn't be able to get away with low-balling people but curious to hear if anyone has any stories...
Generally when people throw a target number in they try to hit that target +/- a few thousand. Usually try to be above the target if you’re good.
