PE Ops Landscape 2022

Started as a consultant at a boutique in the summer and have thought about eventually making a move to PE Ops but would like to learn more. Have heard comp anywhere from $200k to $300k for associates, how accurate is this? Do these teams run structured recruitment cycles like PE or is it more ad hoc? How is wlb-have heard 50-60 hours per week on average. Are operating roles the main exit opp? Plenty of PE funds have these teams but which ones are the best in terms of comp, wlb, and exit opps? TIA

Currently a SA in PE Ops (less than a year into this role) - comp range sounds consistent with what I’ve seen here. Firm is a well-known MM investor with a relatively large operating platform.

Recruiting for FT at my firm appears to be ad-hoc, but we definitely have a structured internship program.

Currently, I do think about this as “the exit opp”. Would happily climb this ladder (albeit, maybe not at the same firm forever) as long as comp/title progression is satisfactory/I keep learning and I taking on more responsibility etc.
