PE Recruiting for Post MBA Associates
[For the avoidance of doubt, I'm referring to individuals who enter b-school with no prior IB experience/graduate and work as an IB associate for 2-3 years]
Have heard ~10% of post MBA associates pivot to the buyside, but don't see much at all on here regarding post MBA associate buyside recruiting. Seems like majority of MBA associates don't even attempt to recruit for PE, so I'd imagine those that actually give it a shot have a decent chance...
I'm well aware UMM/megafunds are def out of the question, but do a fair number of LMM and MM firms recruit post MBA associates? What have you guys seen out there?
Any and all data points/insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!
Nobody will go out of their way to recruit you. Need to hustle and be ok with vast majority of funds not wanting to give you a look. You'll also be coming in at the same level as the associates that join that after their IB analyst programs.
