PortCo Monitoring Tools

Hey Monkeys,

I was just curious to hear how everyone handles the portfolio monitoring aspect of their job at their respective shops? Do you typically have an in house (or offshore) team that is solely looking at this, or do you balance it alongside the origination work? If the latter, how frequent / detailed can you really go whilst managing an already busy workload.

Also interested to know whether you employ some third party software to help out with the reporting / monitoring work? It’s pretty old school at my shop (a lot of separate excel files which aggregates the portfolio data that the team then tries to visualize through PowerPoint). Surely there’s an easier / more efficient way of doing this, particularly with AI. Any good software or vendors out there you would recommend looking into?

Thanks everyone in advance - appreciate the insights!
