Potential Role: Portfolio Analyst at Top Tier PE firm
Hi All,
I'm currently looking at a potential role as a portfolio analyst for a Credit Fund (+25billion AUM) at a top tier Private Equity firm. Short description of the role is below:
The candidate will be responsible for providing all portfolio exposure, fund performance analytics, 'and investor reporting requests, in addition to providing all facets of portfolio management support
Few questions I have are: What type of career path can this lead to. Do I have a path to become a PM down the road? What should I expect comp/bonus to be like
I'm currently considering this role and another role at a bank working as a credit analyst where the career path would lead to becoming relationship manager. This role would sit in the FO and would be looking at large structured loans to merchant trading clientele.
I understand these are two totally different paths. My end goal is to work a true FO role that is compensated handsomely. With the bank role I feel that the career path is very clear cut. With this potential Portfolio Analyst role it is not as clear to me.
Any insight would be appreciated!
