Principal Carry
We have had a few threads on Carry DAW references at VP level but curious to hear what people get above that. Ideally with following template:
Cash comp
Carry DAW
Fund size
Years of PE experience
Title
Trending Content - Private Equity Forum
Career Resources
Bump - curious to hear also.
My one data input from someone i know:
- MM fund in asia, most recent fund size 500m-1bn
- Title: partner
- Carry points: 3-5% in that fund
That makes no sense unless the titles are different - what are there 20 partners for a $600mm fund?
Don't underestimate the ability for founders to take the majority of the pie, even if you are a "partner".
Levine Leichtmann has a ton of MDs that all get like 1-3% carry each and the two founders control everything.
Yep, this is not that uncommon. Parent works at a FoF, and have heard of plenty of LMM funds where the sole founder or founders rake in the majority of carry and leave very little for junior leadership
