Do you do a paper LBO, case study, LBO questions or is it more like an IB interview
I think you must have at least a summer internship in M&A / LevFin. Probably very close interviews to investment banking on the technical parts (with a focus on LBO models / comps). I don't think you have a proper case study, probably a modelling test and then they must ask questions during interviews to see how you think about businesses / strategy.
Generally correct, although competition is so high usually you need at least one 6m off cycle in PE or a top IBD. Interviews can be very technical (i.e. 2 hour LBO) with 1.5 hours of technical questions. Some focus more on questions relating to investment thesis and key items to DD. Generally the competition is incredibly tough and people have stellar backgrounds
