Pros and Cons of unique situation...(Help)

I have a potential job situation which I think could turn into a solid opportunity. Through some contacts, I have been put in touch with 2 guys who have just started a PE fund (roughly around 100 million in capital after 6 months). One of the partners is coming from running a successful HF and the other has been working in the private banking space with HNW clients. I have heard great things about both guys from mutual contacts, and after speaking with them, there may be a position for me in an analyst type role.

What be the pros and cons of a situation like this?

If things turned sour you probably wouldn't have great exit opportunities considering the fund is just starting. You probably should find out as much as you can on these two partners and make a decision if you're really sure.

Also, if you're at a firm with a big name right now, maybe you should consider staying there until this startup really gets off the ground and then make the move.

I am actually coming from another area in finance...so I am not in a good area right now to get placed into a top mba program...thats why i am looking to make a move to an analyst type role
