Hi, There is a Prospect Capital job posted on my UG career site and I am thinking of applying. Does anyone know anything about Prospect- culture, pay, types of things they are doing?

Sorry, beyond what's publicly available...ie their investment process, etc. I know they're a BDC so am interested in that all works in addition to how they're perceived/culture/pay as mentioned.

We are trying to piece together a staple finance package and a private placement wondering what the deal is with these guys?
Seems like I get spammed by their BD people almost weekly asking for calls.
Are they a decent BDC? Don't seem to have the reputation of Ares. Worth my time or a waste?

Prospect is a publicly traded BDC (business development corporation). They work with MM / Lower MM businesses to provide debt and equity. No direct experience, but a good place to look would be PSEC's public filings. Because they are a BDC, they have to disclose their positions (aka. all of their investments, the cost basis, where they mark them, the interest rate & seniority, etc.). So from that, you should be able to glean the following info: - Deal flow (at least how much they close). - Investment type (they are all over the board, but you should get an idea of concentration). - The types of deals they work on. - How often they take equity positions vs. syndication on debt.

Is the culture at Prospect Capital as bad as the real Glassdoor reviews make it out to be? Seems odd that their head of HR is the wife of the CEO. I've also heard they ask very politically charged questions which is also illegal (considering they are a publically traded company?). Any color would be great from past employees or people who have worked with their team. ** **** **
I know people who have left there. Both did not have any good thing to say about the firm.

the positive reviews seem like they were all written by hr (same writing style)
