Question about PE recruiting and LinkedIn

Bit of a stupid question so please bear with me:

I'm a rising senior with an IB return offer at an EB for and haven't bothered with updating my LinkedIn to reflect my summer internship and full-time - mainly because of privacy. Would this limit any potential connections with headhunters. I don't know how these HHs look for candidates, but do they use LinkedIn? Is it worth updating my LinkedIn for PE recruiting? Appreciate it.

Yes trawling on LinkedIn is common way for recruiters to find people (they will also often ask folks that they have placed for lists of their group's incoming analysts). That being said its definitely helpful for you to update your LinkedIn to help get on radar of recruiters.

And even though I find it kind of cringe if you want to do on-cycle your first year given how it kicked off before people hit the desk you should probably add "incoming XX @ XX" so you can get that outreach the summer after your senior year.
