Following. Anyone willing to provide their rankings based on prestige? WLB I'll leave it out given this varies wildly and isn't directly/necessarily tied to prestige. When thinking about prestige perhaps things to think through are exit opps, strategy / pools of capital available to invest out of (i.e. heard BX and Bain invest out of different pools of capital for everything from senior to pref, and some hairy stuff versus Antares that just does senior sponsor stuff), size of fund / AUM, associate experience / learning opportunity which is probably closely tied to aforementioned, etc.

I don't usually love prestige / ranking threads but have never really come across rankings for PC, they're not nearly talked about as much as PE or IB on this form, and there's a wide spectrum (i.e. PC arms of PE firms: Apollo Credit / Hybrid Value, KKR, BX, Ares, Bain, Carlyle; pureplay MF credit firms: HPS, Sixth Street, Golub; MM firms: Comvest, HIG Whitehorse, Maranon, etc.). Think something like this would actually help.

Just my 2 cents as someone in private credit - I think the reason you don't see threads on this topic is because the people who end up in private credit generally don't care about prestige/rankings in the first place. Personally I left my IB stint for PC as I valued WLB with still really good comp above all else (I'm in MM PC), and that seems to be the sentiment when talking to other associates at similar firms

That being said, I think it's generally safe to assume the PC arms of MFs are the most prestigious just based off name recognition alone. PC itself is a much broader term than PE - senior-only/DL vs. Mezz. vs. opportunistic, etc. are all very very different and come with their own pros/cons, much more so than MF vs UMM vs MM vs LMM when comparing PE firms, so some shops will be very well known for their mezz team for example and might not be as strong on the senior/agented deals they work on
