Reaching Out to a New Company after Accepting an Offer

I am a senior in college and accepted a return offer from the company I interned with a few months ago. I recently came across a job opening at a PE firm I've always wanted to work at for though and am now frustrated that I didn't get the chance to apply.

What would happen if I emailed the PE firm saying I already accepted an offer, but still want to interview with them? Would they be receptive if I offered to renege? Or could I interview to get my foot in the door and then join the company in a year's time?
