Real Estate Private Equity -> Traditional Company Buyouts

Hi All,

Hope everyone is keeping safe and sane. I am a second year IB analyst and received an offer from a large Canadian PE firm (NY Office) to join their RE PE team as an analyst. The firm is great, very nice people, and very smart. I was just wondering how hard it is to make the jump from REPE to PE focused on industrials or infra after a year if I figure out I want to explore different asset classes. The only reason I am considering this is because I am so done with IB, and joining a great PE team as an analyst is a great opportunity and moves me closer to my goals.

Any advice from the people who experience in the PE world would be much appreciated!
