I interviewed there before accepting an offer in direct PE, they’re a placement agency. They will market a funds materials and try to gather LP capital for that fund. They make money through raising the capital and taking a % fee and I believe they sometimes get some stake of the fund itself (usually pretty low). You’re basically doing IB without the modeling and with PE firms instead of companies, Ive heard the hours are similar. It’s an exit type position.

I have worked with them a lot and really enjoy every single person I know there. I have no idea what it might be like to actually work there but it seems like high quality people. They fundraise for some very solid GPs across all industries. Given they started in Europe, there is good exposure to GPs on both sides of the Atlantic. Also, they have built a good knowledge of the impact space and are raising for some of the absolute best impact GPs.

As a placement agent, you travel less post-Covid than you used to but you’ll spend a lot of time on the road with GPs taking them to meet LPs. It’s an important lifestyle consideration to know about.
