Reference Check After Final Round?
Just finished a process on Friday for a buyside opportunity that I’m genuinely excited for and really want. Interview wise, I think I performed well and got along with my interviewers.
After Friday’s last round, I received an email today asking for references as the next step in the process. I provided some very strong references and feel good about their potential feedback. Is a reference check after a final round, a good thing? Does this mean I might get an offer? I’m trying to not get my hopes up but curious on what it normally means
Good sign, unless a major red flag occurs you will get an offer. But usually if they use a HH, the HH would have done some incognito checks already
Got it makes sense and no HH, I got the interview through a referral (hopefully makes it cheaper for them, I know they use HH normally)
whats the spot? feel free to PM , always interested in knowing the market

Hh will have blanket exclusivity to avoid conflicts like this ie they get $$ no matter what. They still want to avoid as hurts their LT value prop to see candidates hired from outside their purview
Noted, thanks for the clarification!

How long did it take to hear back? In a similar situation
