Salary Progression
All,
I'm a 1st year associate at a well known megafund that just received my half year end bonus & numbers for next year. I'm curious if anyone has a rule of thumb on base comp and how that progresses over time. I know that I'm about in line with the industry average for last year (~110k) and going into my next year as a (2nd?) year associate with 115k (>5% increase). Understanding that total comp is the real measure but having base certainty is nice - is this relatively in line with others' experience, particularly those also at MF's?
Could not find good numbers/material that speaks to buyside comp and know that it's relatively unstructured.
yes, not that big of a bump for base since it is just usually adjusted for inflation. as one progresses through the ranks, the key factor is the magnitude of the bonus.
what's your total all in comp from 1st year to 2nd year?
Yeah I thought so too and wanted some second opinions. First year comp was 210 all in. Trying to get some expectations lined up for next year
