This is correct. Their strategy now is to approach a handful of candidates at the very best groups across banks, using their network to understand who the highly touted / best performing interns are and have their pick amongst them. Also substantially reduced analyst class size.

Yes, have reliable source both are back on, but internship is more for friends of the firm. Also very small class sizes.
What types of people are they hiring as analysts if it’s such a small class? How much does group vs profile/stats matter?
