Yeah, you probably got your resume submitted, but it never got picked for coffee chats. It’s just the way it works with headhunters and the process. They blast everyone to gather interest and if you don’t hear back, you just have to assume you’re resume is either back of pile or you didn’t get selected. What I realized over many years of working headhunters is that radio silence is 99% a ding. They will call every single number, text and leave you 10+ voicemails if you move forward or get an offer. Just move on as it’ll be best for your sake.

not sure how true it is but have heard it from multiple others at my bank. apparently they’re either going to hire 1 person last minute or no one at all. their analyst class is quite sizable now, and in this economy, no need to take on any more associates at the moment.

how much does school matter? do you not get any points for being in a good group as a non-target?
School seems to matter a ton for SLP unfortunately. Vast majority attended either Harvard or Penn, and then you have one-off people from the likes of UVA, Notre Dame, etc. Only true non-target associate I see listed on their website went to a HBCU.
Fuck. I’m a non target for PE( we have one MD at SLP) and am heading to a group with frequent placement to SLP.
I assume networking is useless(?) for on cycle at least

Sounds like trouble over at SLP. No return offers being given to interns. No hiring of full time analysts. Heard they might’ve taken 1 or 2 associates in both this years and last years cycle. Let’s see how they shake this one off.
