Honestly from what I hear from friends (non wso), that place is insanely tough
Can someone explain why TPG HC is so well regarded / so sweaty? Been seeing it pop up on here quite often.

Apollo given their heavy emphasis on lean deal teams. Associates will grow at an accelerated rate with more responsibility but will also endure a heavier work load. Good and bad.
Curious as to what qualified as a lean deal team in PE? Is it just one associate, one VP/Principal, and one MD/Partner?
3 people. Associate, VP, Partner. And they are pretty strict with that being the standard deal team size
H&F or Apollo - not MF but Permira - seem the most intense
Met a senior at Permira who told me he was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down due to stress during his associate years. So yeah that tracks
My SO just moved there and they they heavily promoted/marketed how good the culture is. She hasn't had a weekend off since she joined. Worked during wedding events (abroad), bday on Saturday, etc

Apollo is intense because of the strict three person deal team and the insane number of cuts data and structures that partners want to run. But in recent years as the associate class got larger, the intensity depends whether you’re in the unlucky half that gets staffed on live deals. Then there’s the other 75% of associates who have a great WLB.

They all suck to work at
CD&R sounds pretty bad I ain't even gonna lie - I know 2 people who were the biggest hardos and even they are tapping out / have tapped out
I heard it differs by culture (industrials is bad)
Which office is this? Can you please elaborate? Any estimate on weekly hours?
