Thank You Email After Interview?
I know sending a thank you email after an IB interview is standard.
Is it the same with PE or can we skip the niceties?

I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't send a thank you email, full stop. It's an opportunity to put yourself back in their minds, express appreciation for their time and consideration, reiterate your sincere interest in joining their team, and even elaborate or share a brief relevant thought that you didn't mention in the interview.
It's a no brainer.
Absolutely send one. It's not even just IB, I would send one for any interview
The other commenters are definitely right that you should since there’s no reason not to. However, just anecdotally, when I went through on cycle I always got a “moving onto the next round” call within an hour or so and forgot/never got a chance to even think about it. I actually ended up following up with thank you’s once I got my offer and regained consciousness from the craziness of everything.
