There's a rumor that the incoming TPG PE class (summer '13 start) is all GS. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Just out of curiosity.

100% accurate.
I swear everytime someone asks these questions one of you jokers come out and say that it doesn't matter. And then you go about asking even more retarded questions. Why the fuck do you care if it matters to them? Just answer the kids questions.
OP - TPG hired mostly from GS this year, but not all as far as I know.

Didn't know the smaller banks were merging.
Have a buddy heading over to TPG from Lazard this year, so what youre hearing cant be fully accurate
Not all GS but a large number. Most top analysts from other groups had already signed offers last spring, the ones who held out for megafunds either couldn't get good offers or (what I believe was the case for GS) were not allowed to recruit before then.
