Transition from Business analyst at PE firm to Associate

I am a scrum master/business analyst at a top PE firm. My BA is in Econ and just got an MBA but not from a top 10 school. I want to know the likelihood of the possibility of me transitioning to the investment side of the company as an associate at the firm as opposed to the tech side where I am currently. Investments has always been my passion but gravitated to the product management space after college instead. I have a decent base salary 130k as a scrum master but our bonuses are much less compared to the associates. Do I have a shot at them letting me transition to becoming an associate? I have a PMP and a few other agile/tech certs. Is there any certs or designations you recommend? CFA? FINRA series 63 or series 7? Thanks for your insight.
